Sea Point Films and Media was founded by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Richard Trank, who serves as the company's Executive Producer.

Internationally acclaimed for his documentary work, Trank has created 17 films that have reached audiences around the world through major streaming platforms and broadcasters.

Today, Sea Point Films and Media develops and produces an expanding international slate of feature documentaries, narrative films, and premium drama series inspired by extraordinary true stories for global audiences.

Current projects include Always 28The Road HomeToto & CocoThe WatchmakersOne Million GuitarsOrdinary People, and Benmayor, an eight-part dramatic series exploring the remarkable true story of a Greek Jewish resistance leader during World War II.

Richard Trank

Richard Trank is an Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and the Founder and Executive Producer of Sea Point Films and Media.

Prior to launching his production company, Trank was the founding Executive Producer and Principal Writer/Director of Moriah Films, the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s two-time Academy Award-winning film division. In that role, Trank wrote and directed sixteen films, all of which continue to stream on every major platform with a worldwide viewing audience of over a billion people.

He is also a Writer’s Guild of America award nominee and PEN award winner.

Trank’s film, Never Stop Dreaming: The Life and Legacy of Shimon Peres, narrated by George Clooney, features Presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama, Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Benjamin Netanyahu, and Barbra Streisand. It began streaming as a Netflix Original in July 2022 and has been one of the most popular on the platform.

Trank’s films have appeared in major film festivals around the globe, with many winning prestigious industry awards including winner of numerous Best of Festival and Audience Favorite Awards from the Chicago International and Jerusalem Film Festivals to the Seattle, San Sebastian and Deauville Film Festivals.

He has interviewed numerous world leaders who have appeared in his films including American Presidents Reagan, Obama, Clinton, Bush; French Prime Minister Sarkozy; UK Prime Minister Blair; Israeli Prime Ministers Peres, Rabin, Shamir, Sharon, Barak, Netanyahu; Israeli President Herzog and Ambassador Abba Eban. Adding to the list of luminaries have been Simon Wiesenthal, Barbra Streisand, A.B. Yehoshua, Natan Sharansky, Joseph Heller, Jane Fonda, David Broza and Isaac Stern, amongst others.

Narrating his documentaries have been entertainment industry icons including George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Sir Ben Kingsley, Michael Douglas, Dustin Hoffman, Sandra Bullock, Christoph Waltz, Julianna Margulies, Morgan, Freeman, Anne Bancroft, Leonard Nimoy, Brooke Shields, and Whoopi Goldberg.
