Spies, Nazis, Lovers: The True Story of Power, Espionage & Fashion
Sea Point Films and Media has acquired the documentary and narrative feature/streaming rights to the bestselling book about high fashion Vogue model and World War II spy Toto Koopman, a favorite of French fashion icon Coco Chanel. While Chanel collaborated with the Nazis, Koopman spied for the British, joined the French and Italian resistance, ending up in a German concentration camp until she was rescued.
-
Based on the bestselling book by award-winning veteran British journalist, Alan Frame, this untold story touches on the complicated relationship between Chanel and Koopman, friends who became enemies, each taking a radically different path in their lives. At the war’s end, while Coco Chanel’s reputation was sanitized and she became an international celebrity wielding immense wealth and power, Koopman became a forgotten figure.
The biracial and queer Koopman had love affairs with powerful men and women spanning from the highest levels of government, to the world of high fashion and art, to Hollywood luminaries, including actress Tallulah Bankhead and both Lord Beaverbrook, 30 years her senior, as well as his son, Max.
John Kidd, grandson of Lord Beaverbrook, the legendary British press baron, who was a confidant and member of Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s inner circle, is a consulting producer alongside veteran British producer Liz Thorburn, known for the series Above Suspicion, amongst many others.
The project has full, exclusive access to the Beaverbrook archives, including never-before-seen letters, documents, photographs, and other personal affects.

October 7, 2023, a date in history like 9/11 or Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941, will forever be infamous for it’s brutality and savagery.
At the end of World War II when Nazi Germany’s murder factories were liberated by the Allies, the survivors of the Shoah – the Holocaust – emerged, searching for ways to pick up the pieces of their broken lives.
Despite having lost everything but an unbreakable spirit, many went to Eretz Yisrael to help create the State of Israel and build new lives out of the ashes of Hitler’s Europe.
Like those survivors, Israelis impacted by the terrible events of 10/7 are also returning to life, refusing to allow the Hamas terrorist attack to define them or the Jewish State.
This 100-minute film examines the resilience of Israel in the wake of the worst attack against the Jews since World War II.
It profiles never-before-heard testimonies of those who survived 10/7, hostages who returned, as well as family members who lost loved ones. It looks at the efforts of organizations and professionals in Israel who are helping survivors and their families return to life. It chronicles the more than 60,000 forced to flee their homes in Israel’s north as missiles from Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria rained down on them after 10/7. It explores the ongoing resilience and heroism of Israelis as they have withstood the barrage of ballistic missiles coming from Yemen and Iran.
Institutional support comes from the ADL, governmental and private agencies in Israel, and foundations and individual donors.

The Courage and Sacrifice of a Young American War Hero
A powerful story about a heroic Jewish-American soldier who fought bravely on D-Day, was captured by the Nazis, died in their custody, and was buried in a mass grave with Nazi soldiers. While his family was notified that he was killed , his final resting place was unknown for nearly 80 years until he was identified and reburied with full military honors under a Jewish Star of David at the American cemetery in Normandy, France.
-
Operation Benjamin, a remarkable nonprofit organization, undertook a relentless investigation and ultimately identified and reburied him with full military honors in a Jewish service under a Jewish Star of David, the Magen David, at the Normandy American Cemetery in June 2024.
This year, as the world commemorates the 80th anniversary of VE day and the liberation of Hitler’s death camps, this story has all the elements of a powerful, unforgettable film: bravery, loss, forgotten history, larger than life characters, and the indomitable spirit of those who refuse to let the past be forgotten.
It is also a deeply Jewish story - one that reminds us, of the courage and sacrifice of the greatest generation of Jewish soldiers who fought side by side with other young Americans to defeat Nazism and tyranny.
In this age of rising antisemitism and disconnection from Jewish identity, Nathan Baskind’s legacy can inspire a new generation to take pride in who they are—and to understand the price that was paid for the freedoms that we all enjoy today.
